Individual Therapy

Individual therapy, also known as talk therapy, is a treatment that helps people work through personal issues with a therapist. It can help with a variety of mental illnesses and emotional difficulties. 

How it works 

  • In a private setting, a therapist works one-on-one with the patient

  • The therapist tailors the approach and process to the patient's needs

  • Sessions focus on exploring problems and working on ways to alleviate symptoms

What it can help with 

  • Stress

  • Anger

  • Grief

  • Conflict

  • Extreme emotions, like sadness or anger

  • Recent trauma

  • Substance abuse

  • Problems at work

  • Loss of enjoyment of activities

  • Strained family and/or personal relationships

Doula Services

Doula services provide non-medical support to pregnant people and their families before, during, and after childbirth. Doulas can help with physical, emotional, and practical aspects of pregnancy and birth. 

What doulas do 

  • Help develop a birth plan

  • Provide continuous labor support

  • Educate on pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenting

  • Help communicate with medical providers

  • Connect with community resources

  • Provide physical support, such as suggesting positions to ease labor

  • Provide emotional support, such as encouraging a positive attitude

  • Guide through difficult moments

Tuning Fork Therapy

Tuning fork therapy is a non-invasive healing technique that uses sound waves to promote balance and healing. The forks are struck to create vibrations that resonate through the body's energy pathways. 

How it works 

  • The practitioner holds the forks and strikes them against an activator or snaps the tines together

  • The tips of the forks are placed on acupuncture points or moved up and down the spine

  • The patient may also hold the forks near their ears to listen to the sound

Benefits: Calming the nervous system, Aligning the mind and body, Restoring balance and harmony, and Promoting healing and well-being.

  • Treating a wide range of ailments, including musculoskeletal, neurological, and psychological conditions

  • Inducing a deeper state of relaxation

  • Restoring the balance in the body's chakras

Walk & Talk Therapy
(Middlesex, Mercer, & Hunterdon Counties)

Walk and talk therapy is a type of psychotherapy that involves walking outdoors while talking with a therapist. It can help with a variety of issues, including anxiety, stress, depression, and more. 

How it works

  • During a session, the therapist and client walk side by side and discuss the client's issues 

  • The physical activity can help the client relax and feel more comfortable 

  • The change in physicality from sitting to walking can ease tension for some clients 

Benefits 

  • Reduced anxiety and stress

  • Improved focus and concentration

  • Encourages openness and honesty

  • Boosts creativity and clear thinking

  • Improves emotion regulation

  • Helps cope with life transitions or feeling stuck

Who might benefit 

  • People who enjoy spending time outdoors

  • People who have a lot of excess energy during therapy sessions

  • People who don't feel comfortable sitting still

  • People who prefer to talk while sitting side by side instead of face to face

Walk and talk therapy is typically covered by insurance, but it's recommended to check with your insurance provider to confirm.
